Kick off your e-file prep with the Cuticle Barrel Bit. This medium-grit diamond nail drill bit gently pushes back the cuticle, lifts the eponychium, and clears non-living tissue from the nail plate. That gives you a clean base for every prep step that follows. Its slim, reduced barrel gives you more control around the cuticle and in tight spaces, with less contact with the surrounding skin.

Part of our Mini Precision Prep Bits collection, a line of smaller e-file bits made for the finer details. They’re built for detailed prep and give you more visibility and control on smaller nail plates and in tight spots around the cuticle and sidewalls.

Material and grit: Diamond, medium

Skin type: Thicker, drier, tougher skin

Recommended speed: 7,000–9,000 RPM

Shank size: Standard 3/32"

Suitable for: Left- and right-handed use

When to use: To help clear dead skin from hard-to-reach areas around the cuticle and sidewalls

Pro tip: Keep your pressure light and let the bit gently lift and remove non-living tissue. Don’t force it into the nail plate.
