Before we jump into the steps, make sure you have these essentials:

Ombre Nails With Gel in 7 Steps

Now that you are fully equipped, let's get started. Follow these seven steps for flawless ombre nails.

Step 1: Prep the Nails

Start by filing the nail surface to remove any shine. Cleanse the nails with IPA or acetone before gel application.

For detailed prep tips, visit TGB Academy’s Perfect Prep Online Workshop.

Step 2: Apply Base Coat Polish

Apply a thin layer of 2-in-1 Base, making sure to cap the free edge. Cure for 99 seconds on low-heat mode under the TGB Light the Way Nail Lamp.

Note: If you are using BIAB™ as your base color, you can skip this step and go directly to applying the colors.

Step 3: Apply Gel Color Polish

Apply a thin layer of Chocolate to the lower third of the nail, Monogram to the middle, and African Sunset to the top third (as shown in the tutorial).

Step 4: Blend the Colors

Use the Ombre 01 Brush to blend the colors with vertical strokes for a smooth gradient effect.

Step 5: Apply a Second Gel Color Coat

Apply a second coat of each color for a more opaque look. Blend again with your brush in vertical strokes, then cure under the nail lamp for 60 seconds.

Step 6: Apply Top Coat

To seal your ombre design, apply a layer of Extreme Shine Top Coat, and cure under the nail lamp for 60 seconds.

Step 7: Apply Chrome Pigment

Finally, as a finishing touch for outstanding chrome nails, apply Iced Chrome Pigment over the nail with your applicator. Apply another layer of Extreme Shine Top Coat, and cure for 60 seconds under the nail lamp.
