Do I need to use a primer before the base coat polish?

No, you do not need to use a primer before applying our base coat nail polish.

Is a base coat necessary?

Yes, if you are using nail polish for a manicure, then a base coat polish is necessary to protect the nail and create a strong foundation for the colored polish to lay on. But, if you are using our All-in-One builder gel polish, then no, it does not need a base coat. 

How do I apply the base coat nail polish?

First, prep the nails by cleaning the cuticles and nails, pushing back or trimming the cuticles, and filing. Then apply a thin layer of our 2-in-1 Base nail polish and wait for it to dry. Apply a second coat, then when it is dry, you may apply any additional color nail polish, and finish with a top coat. 

How many layers of base coat polish are needed?

We suggest using two coats of our base coat nail polish to protect the nail while offering a sturdy base for more polish. 

Is the base coat nail polish cruelty-free?

Yes! Our professional base coat nail polish is vegan and cruelty-free. Our nail and gel polishes do not use animal byproducts or testing, and all our products are Leaping Bunny Certified. This is great to have in your salon or nail tech kit for clients who only use vegan gel polish. 

What happens if you do not apply base coat polish?

Yes! Our base coat polish can be used to strengthen and protect your nails. This is done by reinforcing the nails with hard, durable layers of polish and acting as a barrier between other layers of polish and the natural nail.
