How to Take Care of Your TGB Tools: Clean, Store and Protect Your Professional Kit

As a nail professional, your tools are your most valuable assets. From cuticle prep to nail cleansing and flawless finishes, your TGB Tools work as hard as you do. That’s why taking care of them properly is non-negotiable. Regular cleaning, correct storage, and professional upkeep don’t just maintain performance—they extend the life of your kit and ensure the best results for every client.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to maintain your TGB Tools, Brushes, E-File, and E-File Bits so they stay in peak condition.

Why Tool Care Is So Important

  • Longer-lasting tools = smarter investment.
  • Optimal hygiene = safer service for every client.
  • Consistent performance = better results.
  • Compliance = meets industry hygiene standards and client expectations.

1. How to Clean Your TGB Metal Tools

Tools:

  • TGB Cuticle Nippers
  • TGB Classic Pusher
  • TGB Cuticle Scissors

After every client:

  1. Wash with warm soapy water to remove all visible debris. Use a soft-bristle brush to gently scrub around hinges and blades.
  2. Disinfect using a salon-grade solution (follow manufacturer instructions).
  3. Dry completely with a clean, lint-free towel to avoid rusting.

Pro Tip: Never leave tools soaking for longer than necessary—prolonged exposure can affect performance and finish.

2. How to Clean Your TGB Brushes

Tools:

  • TGB Detail Brush
  • TGB Ombre Brush
  • TGB Liner Brush

To clean your brushes after use:

  1. Gently wipe excess product from the bristles using a lint-free wipe and a small amount of TGB Brush Saviour.
  2. Reshape the bristles to their original form.
  3. Always store your brushes with their TGB Brush Caps on to protect the shape and prevent dust build-up.

Important: Never soak brushes in acetone or alcohol-based products—this can damage the bristles and loosen the ferrule.

3. How to Clean and Store Your TGB E-File and Bits

Tools:

  • TGB E-File
  • TGB E-File Bits

After each service:

  1. Use a clean dry brush to remove dust and product from your TGB E-File Bits.
  2. Disinfect bits with a tool-safe disinfectant or ultrasonic cleaner if available.
  3. Dry thoroughly and store them in a TGB E-File Bit Case to prevent cross-contamination and damage.

TGB Tip: Make sure the body of your TGB E-File is kept dust-free by wiping it down with a dry cloth after each day.

4. Storage: Keep Your Tools Protected Between Clients

Store all your clean, dry tools in a:

  • Tool Tray or dedicated drawer
  • Tool Pouch for mobile techs
  • Closed, dry container—avoid leaving tools exposed to air or humidity

UV sterilizers can be used as an extra hygiene step, but they are not a replacement for proper disinfection.

5. Know When to Replace Your TGB Tools

Even with the best care, every tool has a lifespan. Look out for:

  • Dull edges on your ProNip or TGB ProTrim
  • Frayed or split bristles on your Nail Art Brushes
  • Blunted or vibrating bits on your E-File Bits

When it’s time, replace them directly from our Tools Collection to ensure consistency, quality, and professional-grade performance.

6. Create a Simple Tool Care Routine

  • After each client: Clean, disinfect, dry, and store
  • Weekly: Oil joints, deep-clean brushes
  • Monthly: Review tool condition and replace if needed
