3D Nail Art

If you are like us and saw the viral 3D fruit nails all over your For Your Page (FYP) this summer and want to know some popular ways to incorporate 3D nail art into your repertoire, then we have the blog for you. With the increasing popularity, several of your clients will be coming into your chairs requesting 3D nails. Many nails are surprisingly simple when it comes to the products you will need to recreate them; the TGB Clear 3D Studio Gel™ is the essential you will need in your kit to get the looks.

3D Chrome Nails

Another popular nail design completely taking the world by storm is chrome nails. Combine chrome nails and 3D nails to get the ultimate on-trend nail art. This look fuses multiple different chrome formats to create a snakeskin effect on the nail, using 3D effects to make the design pop.

How To:

  1. Apply a base coat; any BIAB™ will work.
  2. Apply a Chrome Pigment. The Chrome Pigment used in the video is the Iridescent Chrome Pigment.
  3. After sealing and curing, use the Mirror Chrome Studio Gel to create the snakeskin outline. Our Liner 02 Brush is perfect for making precise lines.

Finish it off by filling in the spaces with a small dot of the Clear 3D Studio Gel. Our Detail 02 Brush is perfect for this application.

3D Flower Nails

Flower nails are one of the most popular searches for 3D nail art designs and can be adapted all year round with various colors and flower shapes.

How To:

  1. Design the base nails and nail art however you would like.
  2. Use Clear 3D Studio Gel and a TGB Round Brush to build out the petals.
  3. Once you have the desired shape, cure the 3D gel.
  4. Paint over the flower with any gel colors that suit your look.

Puffy 3D Nails

Clients who love the feeling of 3D nails will most likely love the way puffy nails look and feel too. Puffy nails offer flexible designs; the example we have is puffy heart nails, which would be a perfect look to keep in your back pocket for Valentine’s Day.

How To:

  1. Start with a Builder in a Bottle base. NU08 builder gel was used for this specific look.
  2. There are two ways to create the 3D heart:
    1. Build up layers of cured BIAB to get it thicker.
    2. Use Clear 3D Studio Gel, and cure. Then paint over it to get the same color.
  3. Once the heart is formed, build up the thickness of the rest of the nail using the same BIAB. Make sure to leave a small gap around the heart to get the puffy effect.
  4. Cure, and voila!

3D Swirls

If you’re looking for an easy, simple 3D nail art look to add to your repertoire, 3D swirl nails will be your new go-to. Because it is abstract, there are so many different swirls you can make with endless color combinations.

How To:

  1. Start with a base coat of any color you would like. The neon from this video is Vibes.
  2. Use a top coat, and cure the first layer.
  3. To add an extra element, apply a layer of chrome underneath the swirls. Prism is used as the holographic TGB Chrome Pigment. Put a small amount of powder on an applicator before rubbing it on the nail gently. Do not apply a top coat, then cure this layer.
  4. On the uncured chrome layer, use the Detail 02 Brush and Clear 3D Studio Gel to create your swirls.
  5. Cure that layer, then wipe any excess chrome powder.
